Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

  • Canadian Blood Services Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

    Canadian Blood Services is a not-for-profit charitable organization. Regulated by Health Canada as a biologics manufacturer and primarily funded by the provincial and territorial ministries of health. Canadian Blood Services operates with a national scope, infrastructure and governance that makes it unique within Canadian healthcare. Through its Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, Canadian Blood Services offers salary support for young investigators. Postdoctoral fellows undertaking full-time research training in a Canadian research laboratory affiliated with Canadian Blood Services are invited to apply.

    The fellowship provides salary support plus benefits, and a one-time research allowance of $20,000. Fellows may be supported for a maximum of three years.

    Fellowships provide support for highly qualified applicants in all areas of health research at the post-PhD degree or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research either in Canada or abroad.

  • John Charles Polanyi Prizes

    In honour of the achievement of John Charles Polanyi, recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, the government of the province of Ontario has established a fund to provide up to five prizes annually to outstanding researchers in the early stages of their career who are continuing to postdoctoral studies or have recently started a faculty appointment at an Ontario university.

  • NSERC Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowships

    The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has established the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Foreign Researchers.
