How to opt out of select ancillary fees
The Student Health and Dental plan, the Legal Protection Plan and My Virtual Doctor are provided through the Student Union and are available for all full-time students. You have the ability to opt out of a portion of the Health and Dental Insurance fee by providing proof of pre-existing coverage.
You can also choose to opt-out of the Legal Protection Program or My Virtual Doctor provided to you through the Student Union during the change-of-coverage period on the StudentCare website. Fall semester opt-out is open between September 6 and 30. Winter semester opt-out (new students only) is open between January 1 and 31.
It is important to note that you are only required to opt out once. In future years, you will automatically be opted out and receive a refund. If you lose coverage, you have 30 days to opt back into the plan. Alternatively, each September you can opt back in.
