Fall 2025 Graduate Orientation
Welcome to Graduate Studies at Ontario Tech University! The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) is delighted to welcome you to our vibrant graduate community. To ensure you’re fully prepared to begin your graduate studies, we would like to invite you to our Graduate Student Orientation Session.
Join us on Wednesday, September 3 for our Graduate Student Orientation session at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, Gym 3 from 10 a.m. to noon. This session is your opportunity to learn how SGPS can support your success by providing guidance and resources every step of the way.
The orientation will feature a welcome address by the Deputy Provost and the Dean of SGPS, followed by an overview of SGPS services available that will enhance your graduate experience.
After the session, explore various booths where you can connect with representatives from faculties and key university departments, including Finance, Registration, Academic Affairs, Thesis Support and the International Office. Take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions, find resources, and discover ways to get involved.

Navigating the International Office - Monday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to noon & Wednesday, July 9 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Join Peipei Dong, an International Student Advisor from the International Office, for an informative session designed specifically for incoming international graduate students. Ashley will provide valuable support and answer your questions on a range of topics, including pre-arrival preparations, arrival procedures, and immigration-related matters. Graduate Finance Essentials - Wednesday, July 30 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Enhance your understanding of graduate finances with our Student Awards and Financial Aid (SAFA) team. In this session, SAFA will address all your questions about funding, Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA), Teachings Assistantships (TA/RA) and scholarships. They will also provide information on tuition fees, payment options and deadlines.

Student Accessibility Services: Getting Started as a Graduate Student - Friday, August 15 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Hosted by Student Accessibility Services (SAS), this session will introduce the supports available for students with disabilities, including learning and physical disabilities, mental health conditions, chronic illnesses, sensory impairments, and temporary injuries. Participants will learn how to register with SAS, navigate the SAS Portal to manage accommodations and test bookings, and access services such as academic coaching and peer supports. This session is a valuable first step in creating an accessible and supportive academic experience at Ontario Tech.

With the fall semester fast approaching, make sure you're prepared with this online drop-in session. Campus Explorers: Ontario Tech Tours
Explore our vibrant campus with the recruitment team. A dedicated tour guide will provide a tour specifically designed for students, guiding you through the north Oshawa campus or Downtown Oshawa campus. Get acquainted with our academic buildings, classrooms, study spaces, and student service areas, ensuring you become familiar with all the essential locations for your academic journey. This will be an in-person tour.

Please note: New/incoming fall 2025 graduate students will also have an opportunity to tour the north Oshawa campus on Saturday, August 30 as apart of their incoming Orientation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
